Partnership for Action on a Green Economy Holds Inaugural Meeting [viewed]

Event: World Water Day [viewed]

World Water Day 2014 takes place on March 22, with events in 2014 focusing on the theme of "Water and Energy". The events this year are coordinated by the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and UN University (UNU). Events celebrating World Water Day will take place across the globe, including in Sri Lanka, the US, the Philippines, Benin, Poland and Tunisia among many others, and are expected to engage stakeholders, government officials, non governmental organizations (NGOs), international organizations and youth on issues related to water and energy.

Event: Official World Water Day Celebration: The Water-Energy Nexus [viewed]

UN-Water will host an event co-organized by UN University (UNU) and the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) on 'The Water-Energy Nexus' serving as the official UN celebration of World Water Day, which is celebrated on 22 March. UNIDO and FAO to Develop Regional Forestry Education Program in Southern Africa [viewed]

fao-unido30 November 2013: Officials from the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) have gathered with representatives from forestry education and training institutions from Malawi, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe for a three-day project development meeting to discuss challenges facing the forestry and wood industries. Discussions at the meeting, held in Georgia, South Africa, from 27-29 November 2013, covered forest depletion, climate change, wasteful logging and wood-processing practices and other issues, with a focus on the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
