Event: ITTO/FAO/CABI Caribbean Workshop on Forest Products [viewed]

Jointly organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) and the Centre for Agriculture and Biosciences International (CABI), this workshop will address, among other issues: current statistical systems and the status of collection, analysis and dissemination of forest products statistics; methodologies used to collect and report on forest products production and trade; use of forest products statistics at the country level; and the Joint Forest Sector Questionnaire.

"Little" Book Supports Sustainable Landscape Management [viewed]

little_sustainable_bookJanuary 2016: 'The Little Sustainable Landscapes Book: Achieving sustainable development through integrated landscape management' aims to clarify and disseminate sustainable landscape management methods and catalyze their implementation across private and public sectors worldwide. The book was produced by experts from the Global Canopy Programme (GCP), EcoAgriculture Partners, the Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH), The Nature Conservancy (TNC), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), with additional support and funding from diverse bilateral and multilateral development agencies.

Event: ITTO Regional Conference on Biodiversity Conservation in Tropical Forests of Greater Mekong Sub-region [viewed]

This regional conference aims to: assess the effectiveness of national, regional and international approaches to biodiversity conservation in the region; review the enabling environment that supports the establishment of effective linkages between improvements in community livelihoods and the strengthening of biodiversity conservation; and identify the principal constraints that impede efforts to reduce illegal logging and illegal wildlife trade.

Ramsar Convention Turns 45 as Diverse Events Mark World Wetlands Day 2016 [viewed]
