TTM Report Features Indonesia's Policies on Illegal Timber Imports [viewed]

Itto16 September 2014: The International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) launched the 1-15 September issue of the Tropical Timber Market (TTM) Report highlighting the decision by the Government of Indonesia to apply the same verification standards for imported timber as it does for domestic timber. With the legislation coming into effect in 2015, the decision is intended to ensure the legality of timber consumed in the country.

Nepal Identifies Drivers of Forest Loss [viewed]

The report, titled 'Better Growth, Better Climate: The New Climate Economy Report,' was launched at UN Headquarters in New York, US, and presented to governments, as well as to business and finance leaders.

ICRAF, Embrapa Strengthen Cooperation on Alternative Biofuel Crops [viewed]

World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF)16 September 2014: The World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) and the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) have signed a cooperation agreement that builds on the relationship between the two institutions. Ravi Prabhu, ICRAF Deputy Director General for Research, said the agreement expands possibilities for collaboration between ICRAF and Embrapa not just within Brazil, but also in other regions where both institutions have active programmes, such as Central America, the Caribbean and sub-Saharan Africa.

LAC Officials Trained in Using Satellite Technology to Monitor Forests [viewed]
