Climate Finance Update19 December 2014: During December 2014, finance for climate change mitigation and adaptation projects was announced by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the World Bank. Germany, Norway and the UK also reported on funding for projects to be undertaken in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility (CCRIF), the Climate Investment Funds (CIF), the GEF and IDB released climate-related publications.

ASEAN Members Adopt Declaration on Combating Wildlife Trafficking [viewed]

Asean13 November 2014: The 9th East Asia Summit (EAS) concluded with the issuance of declarations and statements on a number of transboundary issues of common concern including Ebola, wildlife trafficking, disaster response and terrorism. On wildlife trafficking, 10 Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member States, as well as Australia, China, India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, the Russian Federation and the US, adopted the 'Declaration on Combating Wildlife Trafficking.'

Event: Intergovernmental Negotiations on Post-2015 Development Agenda - Third Session [viewed]

The third session of intergovernmental negotiations on post-2015 development agenda will take place on 23-27 March 2015, and focus on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and targets. The Draft Programme is available, and the co-facilitators provided "clarifications" on the programme of work on 17 March, as follows: on Monday, 23 March, the morning session will include a presentation from the UN Statistical Commission on preliminary global indicators; on Tuesday, 24 March, the afternoon session will include presentations by Member States on examples of approaches to implementing the SDGs at national level; on Friday, 27 March, the morning session will include a discussion of themes for the interactive dialogues during the post-2015 summit; and on Friday, 27 March, the afternoon session may include a discussion of issues related to coordination with the Financing for Development process, such as a technology facilitation mechanism.
