Event: WTO Public Forum 2016 [viewed]

Under the theme 'Inclusive Trade,' the 2016 World Trade Organization (WTO) Public Forum will be an opportunity to discuss how a wider range of individuals and businesses can participate in the trading system and how the rules of the WTO can help to ensure everyone benefits from trade. Issues to be discussed include ways to ensure that trade is truly inclusive, allowing small enterprises, women and innovative businesses to take an active role in the global trading system. The International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD) will host a booth at the WTO Forum, and is organizing five events on: innovations in regional trade agreements; inclusion in the digital trade governance framework; enabling sustainable investment for inclusive growth; services and inclusiveness in the least developed countries (LDCs) and low-income countries (LICs); and achieving inclusiveness in global value chains (GVCs) in LDCs and LICs.

September 2016 Climate Finance Update: Readiness and Access Get a Boost, Stranded Assets Get under the Spotlight [viewed]

unfccc_gcf_ndf_af_adb_unepdtu26 September 2016: During the month of September, climate finance was highlighted at the highest level, during the Group of Twenty (G20) Summit and the General Debate of the 71st Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 71). Readiness and access support received a major boost through the establishment of two major initiatives, underpinned by millions of US$ in funding. The UNFCCC released several reports in the run-up to the UN Climate Change Conference in Marrakech. Studies by an investor coalition and a regional development bank explored climate risk in investments and stranded assets.
